Al Green

Al Green, born Albert Leornes Greene on April 13, 1946, is an influential American soul singer, songwriter, pastor, and record producer renowned for his hit singles in the early 1970s, such as "Let's Stay Together" and "Take Me to the River." After a traumatic personal tragedy led him to become an ordained pastor, he shifted his focus to gospel music before returning to secular sound. Green has received numerous accolades, including 11 Grammy Awards and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, solidifying his status as a key figure in the Memphis soul genre.
