Joe Loco

Joe Loco, born José Estevez Jr. on March 26, 1921, in New York City, was a notable American Latin jazz and pop pianist and arranger of Puerto Rican descent. Active primarily from the late 1930s through the 1950s, he played with prominent ensembles, including Machito's, and gained recognition for his 1952 hit "Tenderly." Loco was known for creating Latin arrangements of popular standards and performed extensively in jazz venues, helping to bridge the gap between Latin and mainstream music. He passed away on March 7, 1988.
