Jim & Jesse

Jim & Jesse was an American bluegrass duo formed by brothers Jim McReynolds (1927–2002) and Jesse McReynolds (1929–2023), originating from Carfax, Virginia. Active from 1945 until Jim's death in 2002, the duo became notable for their unique musical style, with Jesse innovating mandolin techniques and Jim providing high tenor vocals and guitar. They were prominent figures on the Grand Ole Opry, recordings include hits like "Cotton Mill Man" and "Diesel on My Tail," and they received several honors including inductions into various music halls of fame. After Jim's passing, Jesse continued to perform, further blending bluegrass with other genres.
