Earl HookerEarl Hooker (1930–1970) was an influential American blues guitarist and a prominent figure in the Chicago blues scene, renowned for his slide guitar techniques. Born in Mississippi and later moving to Chicago, Hooker played with notable artists such as Junior Wells and John Lee Hooker, and achieved recognition for his instrumental hit "Blue Guitar," which was later adapted by Muddy Waters as "You Shook Me." His career spanned from the 1940s to the 1970s, during which he recorded various albums and singles. Despite struggling with tuberculosis, he continued to perform until his death at age 40.
