Vikki Carr

Vikki Carr, born Florencia Vicenta de Casillas-Martínez Cardona on July 19, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, is a prominent American vocalist with a career spanning over five decades. Known for her versatility across genres such as pop, jazz, and mariachi, she gained significant acclaim, particularly for her Spanish-language music, winning three Grammy Awards and receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latin Recording Academy in 2008. Carr has also engaged in charitable work through her scholarship foundation and has performed for five U.S. presidents, making her a notable figure in both music and cultural philanthropy.
