Dave PikeDave Pike (1938–2015) was an American jazz vibraphone and marimba player known for his innovative contributions to Brazilian and Latin jazz. He emerged in the late 1950s, recording with notable musicians such as Paul Bley and Herbie Mann, and gained recognition for leading his own ensembles, most notably the Dave Pike Set. Pike's music evolved to integrate diverse styles, including psychedelic and avant-garde influences, and he recorded extensively throughout his career, particularly in Europe with MPS Records before passing away in Del Mar, California.
