Vera Lynn

Dame Vera Lynn (1917–2020) was an English singer and entertainer renowned for her contributions during World War II, where she became known as the "Forces' Sweetheart" by performing for troops abroad. Her most famous songs, including "We'll Meet Again" and "(There'll Be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs of Dover," became emblematic of wartime nostalgia. Post-war, she maintained a successful career in music, television, and charity work, becoming the oldest artist to top the UK Albums Chart at 92 years old in 2009. Lynn was celebrated for her long-standing dedication to veterans and her impact on British music culture throughout her nearly century-long career.
