Tiny Grimes

Art Taylor (1929-1995) was an influential American jazz drummer known for shaping modern jazz drumming. Born in New York City, he gained prominence in the 1950s, playing with prominent artists like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Thelonious Monk, and leading his group Taylor's Wailers. He spent a significant part of his career in Europe, contributing to the jazz scene there before returning to the U.S. in the 1980s. Taylor was also an author, with his book "Notes and Tones" offering insights into the lives of jazz musicians. He is remembered as a highly respected sideman with a significant recording history.
