He began his music career in the 1960s, participating in key recordings and collaborations with prominent artists like Roberto Menescal and Tom Jobim, producing numerous Bossa Nova hits. Marotta has also arranged music for advertisements and film soundtracks while continuing to influence the Brazilian music scene through his work as a producer and arranger into the present day.
