Jerry Fielding

Jerry Fielding (1922–1980) was an American jazz musician, composer, and bandleader, known for his work in film and television scoring. He was a three-time Oscar nominee and a winner of an Emmy Award, becoming notable for his collaborations with directors like Sam Peckinpah and Clint Eastwood on films such as The Wild Bunch and The Outlaw Josey Wales. Fielding began his career in radio orchestras and faced blacklisting in the 1950s due to political pressures; however, he later transitioned to film composition, achieving significant recognition for his innovative scores in various genres, particularly Westerns and action films.
