Shea George Beverly

George Beverly Shea (1909-2013) was a Canadian-born American gospel singer and hymn composer, celebrated for his contributions to the gospel genre, particularly through his performances at Billy Graham Crusades. Often referred to as "America's beloved gospel singer," Shea gained immense popularity during the mid-20th century, known for his deep bass-baritone voice and extensive reach through radio, recordings, and television. Over his career, he impacted the lives of countless individuals, reportedly singing before larger audiences than anyone else in history. Shea's partnership with Graham, beginning in 1947, marked a significant era in evangelical music and outreach. He died at age 104 and was buried at the Billy Graham Library.
