Ernie Freeman

Ernie Freeman (1922–1981) was an influential American pianist, arranger, and bandleader known for his work in rhythm and blues and pop music from the 1950s to the 1970s. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he became notable for his arrangements on numerous hits, including Frank Sinatra's "Strangers in the Night" and Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water," both of which earned him Grammy Awards. Freeman's career spanned various genres, and he played a significant role in early rock and R&B, contributing to numerous successful records and collaborating with many prominent artists. He passed away from a heart attack in Los Angeles.
