The Marketts

The Marketts were an American instrumental pop group formed in 1961 in Hollywood, California, by Michael Z. Gordon. They gained popularity in the 1960s, best known for their hit "Out of Limits," which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964 and sold over a million copies. The band's music was characterized by a surf rock sound and included notable members such as drummer Hal Blaine. The group had three Top 40 hits and released multiple albums before their last hit in 1966, with their name being used for further releases until 1977.
