Dyer Bennet Richard

Richard Dyer-Bennet (1913–1991) was an English-born American folk singer and voice teacher, recognized as a significant figure in the folk revival movement. Born in Leicester, England, and raised in several countries, he was active from the 1940s to the 1990s and recorded extensively, founding his own label, Dyer-Bennet Records. Despite suffering a stroke in 1972 that impacted his ability to perform, he adapted by learning to play the harp one-handed. Dyer-Bennet's legacy includes a focus on progressive politics, and his work remains influential in the folk music genre.
