Adolph Hofner

Adolph John Hofner (1916–2000) was an influential American Western swing bandleader and singer, known for bridging country music and jazz. Born in Moulton, Texas, he gained prominence in the 1930s with his band, the Oklahoma Playboys, and later formed Adolph Hofner and His Texans, achieving notable hits like "Maria Elena" and "It Makes No Difference Now." Hofner's career spanned over six decades, during which he also worked with the Pearl Wranglers and contributed significantly to the genre of Western swing, culminating in a diverse discography before retiring in 1993 due to health issues.
