The Mitchell Chad Trio

The Chad Mitchell Trio, later known as The Mitchell Trio, was an American vocal group formed in 1958, renowned for their performances during the 1960s that featured traditional folk songs and politically charged satire addressing contemporary social issues. Originally consisting of Chad Mitchell, Mike Kobluk, and Mike Pugh, the trio gained popularity through radio and television appearances, eventually incorporating John Denver after Mitchell's departure. They are noted for their ability to blend humor with social commentary, producing a significant body of work that influenced the folk music genre and laid the groundwork for Denver's subsequent solo career. The group remained active in various forms until their final concert in 2014.
