The Grateful Dead

The Grateful Dead was an influential American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California, recognized for their unique blend of rock, blues, jazz, and other musical styles, as well as their improvisational live performances. Active until 1995, they cultivated a loyal fan base known as "Deadheads" through extensive touring and the sharing of live recordings, despite having limited commercial success. The band is considered a pioneer of the jam band genre and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Their legacy continues through various spin-off groups and enduring cultural influence.
