Jack Webb

Jack Webb (1920–1982) was an American actor, producer, director, and writer, best known for his role as Sgt. Joe Friday in the crime drama franchise Dragnet, which he created. He began his career in the 1940s as a radio personality before transitioning to television in the 1950s, where he founded his production company Mark VII Limited, producing influential series such as Adam-12 and Emergency!. Webb's work focused on law enforcement, emphasizing realism and detail, and he became a notable figure in American television during the mid-20th century. He passed away in 1982, leaving a legacy in police procedural dramas.
