Jimmy Wakely

Jimmy Wakely (1914–1982) was an American country music singer-songwriter and actor, known as one of the last singing cowboys. Active primarily during the 1930s to the 1950s, he recorded numerous hits, including "Slippin' Around," and appeared in several B-Western films, while also hosting radio and television shows. He established two music publishing companies and continued performing at venues like the Grand Ole Opry until shortly before his death.
