Stanley Turrentine

Stanley Turrentine (1934–2000) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist and record producer notable for his soulful playing and distinctive tone. He rose to prominence in the 1960s with his work in soul jazz, particularly with the Blue Note label, and later explored jazz fusion during his tenure with CTI Records in the 1970s. Throughout his career, Turrentine collaborated with various influential musicians and released several acclaimed albums, achieving three Grammy nominations while being recognized for his deep connections to blues and R&B influences. He continued performing until his death from a stroke in New York City at age 66.
