Rex Stewart

Rex Stewart (1907–1967) was an American jazz cornetist renowned for his long tenure with the Duke Ellington orchestra, where he contributed as a composer and recording supervisor. Active from the 1920s until his death, he also led his own bands, performed internationally, worked in radio and television, and wrote jazz criticism. Stewart was recognized for his musical talent and contributions to jazz, including his autobiography, "Boy Meets Horn," published posthumously. He died in Los Angeles from a brain hemorrhage.
