Charlie ShaversCharlie Shavers (1920–1971) was an influential American jazz trumpeter known for his work with prominent musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie, Nat King Cole, and Billie Holiday. A talented arranger and composer, he is best remembered for his jazz standard "Undecided." Shavers began his career in the mid-1930s, notably performing with John Kirby's Sextet, and later joined Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra, contributing significantly to its success until Dorsey's death. Throughout his career, Shavers also participated in popular jazz performances and recordings, solidifying his place in the jazz genre before his passing from throat cancer in 1971.
