April Stevens

April Stevens (Caroline Vincinette LoTempio, 1929–2023) was an American singer renowned for her contributions to traditional pop music, particularly in collaboration with her brother Nino Tempo. Active primarily from the 1950s to the 1990s, she achieved notable success with hits like "Deep Purple," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and won a Grammy Award in 1963. Stevens' career included a blend of popular and jazz-influenced styles, and she was inducted into the Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame. She passed away on April 17, 2023, at the age of 93.
