Stanley Brothers The (Ralph And Carter)The Stanley Brothers were a prominent American bluegrass duo comprised of Carter and Ralph Stanley, active from 1946 until Carter's death in 1966. Their music blended traditional Appalachian folk and gospel influences, and they gained recognition for their unique sound, particularly through their work with the Clinch Mountain Boys. They were instrumental in popularizing bluegrass music during the mid-20th century, and after Carter's passing, Ralph continued the legacy as a solo artist. They were inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor in 1992, and Ralph's career was revitalized by his involvement in the 2000 film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
