Charlie RyanJack Ryan was an American Major League Baseball pitcher who played from 1908 to 1911. He was born on September 19, 1884, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and is notable for being traded to the Boston Red Sox as part of a deal involving future Hall of Famer Cy Young. Ryan had a win-loss record of 5-5 and an earned run average of 2.88 over his career. After retiring as a player, he served as a pitching coach for the Red Sox from 1923 to 1927. He passed away on October 16, 1949, in Handsboro, Mississippi. (Source: Wikipedia)
