Jimmie. RodgersJimmie Rodgers (1897–1933) was an influential American country singer, songwriter, and musician, often referred to as the "Father of Country Music." He gained fame in the late 1920s for his unique yodeling style and hit songs such as "Blue Yodel No. 1 (T for Texas)," which became a significant success, selling over a million copies. Known as "The Singing Brakeman," Rodgers's music, characterized by its blend of country, blues, and folk influences, laid the groundwork for future country performers. Despite his battle with tuberculosis, which ultimately led to his early death at age 35, he left a lasting legacy in American music and was posthumously inducted into various music halls of fame.
