Johnny Preston

Johnny Preston (1939–2011) was an American rock and roll singer, notably recognized for his 1959 hit "Running Bear," which topped charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, he had a successful career in the late 1950s and early 1960s, releasing several hit songs and earning a gold disc for "Running Bear." He continued performing until 2009 but faced health issues in later years, culminating in his death from heart failure in 2011. Preston's contributions to rock and roll were acknowledged by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
