Fred Neil

Fred Neil (1936–2001) was an influential American singer-songwriter known for his contributions to the folk and folk rock genres during the 1960s and early 1970s. Although he gained significant recognition through covers of his songs, particularly "Everybody's Talkin'" popularized by Harry Nilsson, Neil was noted for his reluctance to tour and spent much of his later life focused on dolphin conservation, co-founding the Dolphin Research Project. His deep voice and distinctive 12-string guitar work left a lasting impact on the folk music scene, influencing many artists and becoming a pivotal figure in the Greenwich Village music revival.
