Pat Moran

Pat Moran (1876–1924) was an American baseball player and manager, notable for his role as a catcher in Major League Baseball from 1901 to 1914 and later as a manager for the Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds. He led both teams to their first modern National League championships, with the 1919 Reds winning their first World Series, although this victory was later overshadowed by the Black Sox scandal. Moran's managerial career spanned nine seasons, during which he achieved a record of 748 wins and 586 losses, establishing himself as one of the more successful and yet underrated managers in baseball history. He passed away at age 48 in Orlando, Florida.
