Jackie McLeanJackie McLean (1931–2006) was an influential American jazz alto saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and educator, known for his work across hard bop, modal jazz, and avant-garde styles. He gained recognition for his unique sound and extensive recording career, primarily with Blue Note Records. McLean also played a significant role as a mentor to young musicians and established the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at The Hartt School. He was honored posthumously with induction into the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame. His contributions to jazz education and performance have had a lasting impact on the genre. (Source: Wikipedia)
