Red Louisiana

Louisiana Red, born Iverson Minter on March 23, 1932, was an American blues singer-songwriter and musician known for his mastery of slide guitar and blending traditional acoustic and urban electric styles. Active from 1949 until his death in 2012, he recorded over 50 albums and collaborated with notable artists such as Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, gaining significant recognition in Germany where he found a dedicated audience. Red's work was marked by personal and honest lyrics, and he received accolades including the W.C. Handy Award for Best Traditional Blues Male Artist in 1983.
