Loudermilk John D.

John D. Loudermilk (1934–2016) was an American singer-songwriter best known for his prolific songwriting career in the 1960s and 1970s, although he also had a recording career. He wrote notable hits such as "Indian Reservation," "Ebony Eyes," and "Tobacco Road." Influenced by church music and hailing from Durham, North Carolina, Loudermilk's work extended beyond country to pop music, earning recognition among a variety of artists. Throughout his life, he remained active in the music industry, even assisting songwriter advocacy groups until his passing at age 82 due to a heart attack.
