LaBelle Patti (& The Bluebells)Labelle was an American R&B band that evolved from the Blue Belles, a popular girl group in the 1960s formed by Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx, Sarah Dash, and Cindy Birdsong. Renowned for their progressive soul sound, they achieved notable success in the 1970s with hits like "Lady Marmalade" and became the first Black vocal group to grace the cover of Rolling Stone. Labelle's unique blend of glam rock and soul led to innovative performances, including being the first contemporary pop group to perform at the Metropolitan Opera House. After disbanding in 1976, its members pursued successful solo careers before reuniting for a 2008 album. (Source: Wikipedia)
