Richie Kamuca

Carl Perkins (1928-1958) was an American jazz pianist known for his contributions to the West Coast jazz scene. Primarily active in Los Angeles, he is noted for his work with the Curtis Counce Quintet and performances with prominent musicians like Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, and Oscar Moore, as well as for composing the jazz standard "Grooveyard." Despite his promising career, which included one album titled "Introducing Carl Perkins," his life was cut short by a drug overdose at age 29, limiting his legacy in the jazz genre.
