Morgana KingMorgana King (1930–2018) was an American jazz singer and actress known for her four-octave contralto range. She began her professional singing career at the age of sixteen and gained acclaim in the 1950s in Greenwich Village. King's notable roles include Mama Corleone in "The Godfather" (1972) and its sequel, alongside a prolific music career that produced dozens of albums through the late 1990s. She was twice married to fellow jazz musicians and passed away in Palm Springs, California, from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
