Buddy Johnson

Buddy Johnson (1915–1977) was an American jump blues pianist and bandleader known for his contributions to jazz, R&B, and urban blues from the 1930s to the 1960s. His notable works include the jazz standard "Since I Fell for You," performed by his sister, Ella Johnson, and several chart-topping hits such as "When My Man Comes Home." A skilled performer and composer, he showcased his work at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall. His music career spanned several decades, during which he significantly influenced the R&B genre before his death in New York City.
