The Jive Five

The Jive Five was an American doo-wop group formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 1954, initially known as The Genies. They achieved notable success with their 1961 hit "My True Story," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and later contributed to Nickelodeon's branding in the 1980s. The group's classic recordings are considered some of the last significant entries in the doo-wop era, which ended in the mid-1960s. Throughout their career, they experienced various lineup changes and continued to perform actively, leaving a lasting legacy in the music industry.
