Jan & Dean

Jan and Dean were an American rock duo formed in the late 1950s, consisting of Jan Berry and Dean Torrence, known for their contributions to the California Sound and vocal surf music. They rose to fame in the early 1960s with hits like "Surf City," the first surf song to top the Billboard Hot 100, and other notable tracks such as "Dead Man's Curve" and "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena." Despite facing challenges including Berry's severe car accident in 1966, the duo continued to influence the music scene, collaborating with prominent artists and releasing music until the early 2000s. Jan and Dean are recognized as pioneers in their genre and left a lasting legacy in American pop music.
