Chubby Jackson

Chubby Jackson (1918–2003) was an American jazz double-bassist and band leader known for his energetic performances and collaborations with major jazz figures such as Louis Armstrong and Woody Herman. Initially a clarinetist, he switched to double bass in the mid-1930s and became recognized for his leadership of both small and big bands. Jackson also ventured into television as a children's show host in the 1950s and was inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame in 2000. He passed away in California at the age of 84.
