Waylon JenningsWaylon Jennings (1937–2002) was an influential American country music singer, songwriter, and actor, recognized as a pioneer of the outlaw country movement. Emerging in the 1960s, his career gained momentum at RCA Victor in the 1970s with critically acclaimed albums such as "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean" and "Honky Tonk Heroes." Notably, Jennings collaborated with Willie Nelson and others to create the first platinum country album, "Wanted! The Outlaws." He also starred as the balladeer in "The Dukes of Hazzard" and was part of the supergroup the Highwaymen. Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001, Jennings is celebrated for his contributions to progressive country music and for overcoming personal challenges, including substance abuse.
