Art HodesArt Hodes (1904–1993) was a Russian-born American jazz and blues pianist known for his influential role in Chicago's jazz scene. He gained prominence after relocating to New York City in 1938, where he collaborated with notable musicians such as Sidney Bechet and Joe Marsala. Throughout his career, Hodes founded his own band, contributed to the education and promotion of jazz, and produced several recordings. He was recognized by critics as a leading white blues pianist and received an induction into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame in 1998. Hodes passed away in Illinois at the age of 88.
