Herbie Harper

Herbie Harper (1920–2012) was an American jazz trombonist associated with the West Coast jazz movement. Born in Salina, Kansas, he performed with notable artists including Benny Goodman and Maynard Ferguson during the 1940s and 1950s, and was a member of the band that backed Billie Holiday on her Just Jazz radio broadcast in 1949. Throughout his career, Harper recorded several albums as a leader and sideman, contributing significantly to the genre with his distinctive sound.
