Curtis Fuller

Curtis DuBois Fuller (1932–2021) was a renowned American jazz trombonist known for his contributions to the hard bop and soul jazz genres. He rose to prominence as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and collaborated with many notable jazz artists throughout his career, which spanned from 1953 until 2021. Fuller was also honored as an NEA Jazz Master and received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music. He recorded extensively, leading numerous albums and participating in influential jazz sessions, leaving a lasting legacy in the jazz world.
