The Four Tunes

The Four Tunes were an influential American vocal group active primarily during the 1950s, recognized for their contributions to black pop music. Formed from the original quartet The Brown Dots, they achieved significant success with hits like "Marie" and "I Understand (Just How You Feel)," which showcased their transition from rhythm and blues to a more pop-oriented style. The group was known for their performances on both black theater circuits and white clubs and was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004. Their recording career continued into the late 1990s, during which several member changes occurred.
