Five Satins The (5 Satins The)

The Five Satins are an American doo-wop group formed in New Haven, Connecticut in 1954, renowned for their 1956 hit "In the Still of the Night," which sold over a million copies. The group, originally consisting of six members, was predominantly led by Fred Parris, and despite several lineup changes and periods of inactivity, they remained active until 1994. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003, and their influence persists in the doo-wop genre, particularly through their association with classic oldies music.
