The Five AmericansThe Five Americans were an American rock band from Durant, Oklahoma, active during the 1960s. They are best known for their hit single "Western Union," which peaked at number five on the U.S. Billboard chart. Originally formed as The Mutineers, they gained popularity in performance and recorded several singles, achieving varying degrees of success, especially in Canada. The band disbanded in 1969, and several members went on to pursue different careers, with only keyboardist John Durrill surviving as of 2024.
