Kenny Drew

Kenny Drew (1928–1993) was an American-Danish jazz pianist known for his contributions to the genres of jazz, hard bop, and post-bop. Born in New York City, he began his career in the 1950s, recording with notable musicians and later moving to Europe, where he became a prominent figure in the Copenhagen jazz scene. Drew's playing style was characterized by precise melodic improvisation and block chords, and he was recognized for his extensive work with Danish bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. He passed away in 1993 in Copenhagen, leaving a notable legacy in the jazz community.
