Buddy DeFranco

Buddy DeFranco (1923–2014) was an influential American jazz clarinetist known for being one of the few to successfully adopt bebop clarinet playing. He gained prominence in the 1940s and 1950s, leading a small ensemble and spending time with notable groups, including Count Basie's septet. DeFranco was also the bandleader of the Glenn Miller Orchestra from 1966 to 1974 and collaborated with many legendary musicians throughout his career. He was recognized for his contributions to jazz with multiple awards and left a lasting legacy through his extensive discography.
