Dobkins Jr. Carl

Carl Dobkins Jr. (1941–2020) was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his 1959 hit "My Heart Is an Open Book," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a gold disc for selling over one million copies. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he began his career in the late 1950s and was associated with various labels, including Decca and Fraternity, while also performing alongside notable artists like Bobby Vee and Frankie Avalon. Dobkins continued to perform at oldies festivals and received recognition, including inductions into the Cincinnati Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 79.
