Beryl Booker was an American swing pianist born on June 7, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and she passed away on September 30, 1978, in Berkeley, California. Notable for her performances in the mid-20th century, she played with prominent musicians such as Slam Stewart and Dinah Washington, led her own ensembles, and participated in significant jazz tours, including a European tour in 1954. Despite her influential contributions to jazz, she faded into obscurity later in her career, although efforts have been made to honor her legacy posthumously.
